Four simple outfit formulas for travel days, beach trips, city exploring, and winter getaways.
When I travel, I like to build outfits that feel comfortable but still polished. The goal is always to pack pieces that can move easily through the day, whether that means exploring a new city, relaxing by the beach, or heading out to dinner in the evening.

I’m sharing a few travel looks that I return to again and again. Each one is built around pieces that feel timeless, versatile, and easy to style while away. Think of this as a simple guide to packing outfits that help you feel put together wherever your travels take you.
Plane or Car
Travel days call for pieces that feel relaxed but still intentional. I usually start with a comfortable knit set that looks polished but feels easy to wear for long stretches of time. Pieces like this are especially useful because they can be mixed and matched once you arrive.
I like to add a lightweight jacket for structure and a pair of sneakers that are comfortable enough for travel days but still feel elevated. A small accessory like a scarf can also bring a little personality to the look without adding bulk to your bag.

Beach Vacation Look
For beach trips, I focus on pieces that feel effortless and breathable. I like to pack items that can move easily between the beach, lunch, and dinner without needing a full outfit change.
A classic bikini paired with a lightweight cotton dress is one of the most versatile combinations to bring. The dress works perfectly as a cover-up during the day and can be styled later with slides and a tote for an easy evening look.
Simple accessories like a straw tote and comfortable sandals complete the outfit while keeping everything relaxed and practical for warm weather.

City Vacation Look
City travel usually means long days of walking, so I like to build outfits around pieces that feel comfortable but still look pulled together.
A classic skirt is one of the most versatile things to pack because it can be styled with sweaters, tees, or button-downs depending on the day. I especially like pairing it with a lightweight knit for an easy, polished combination.
A trench coat is another staple I almost always bring on city trips. It’s the perfect light layer and instantly makes an outfit feel more finished. Comfortable boots round everything out while still feeling classic enough to wear from day to night.
Ski Vacation Look
Cold-weather travel is all about thoughtful layering. I like to focus on pieces that are warm, timeless, and easy to wear in different settings throughout the trip.
A great turtleneck sweater is always a reliable starting point. It pairs well with denim and works beautifully under heavier outerwear.
For jackets, a classic shearling style is both warm and polished enough to wear from daytime activities into the evening. Dark denim keeps the outfit feeling streamlined, and a simple ankle boot finishes the look while still being practical for winter travel.
Packing for a trip always feels easier when you start with a few pieces that work in multiple ways. When everything coordinates and feels comfortable, getting dressed while you’re away becomes effortless. I hope these looks give you a few ideas the next time you’re planning a getaway.
